Terrible phone
By Eric V
All I can think is that the quality control on this phone was horrible. Maybe some of them work the way they are supposed to, but apparently a lot don't. My wife has a Droid 3 and I now have little faith in this phone, Motorola, or Verizon. If you look around the web you will find a large number of people are having the same problems with the Droid 3. It turns off for no reason. It accesses the web, texts, and allows phone calls when it chooses. It has a hard time keeping power (beyond normal cell phone battery issues). She just turned her second one in and we're waiting on the box with her third one. It looks like Motorola messed up....but other than redistributing refurbished phones that have the same flaws they don't seem to be able to fix the problem. Verizon doesn't appear to care because they are making us try out yet another Droid 3, and lets face it, they sell service and not phones.

Good choice, with weak points.
By S. Endress
I've had the Droid 3 for a year now, and I'm pleased to say that I'm still on my first one. That shouldn't impress me, but in an environment where so many expensive items seem "made to break", I'm happy to report that at least my phone is an exception. While I can't stake claims about processor speed and memory, tethering and jailbreaking (I don't have the tech knowledge for that) I can say that the Droid 3 moves fluidly in day-to-day use and holds up well under processing pressure. It does not freeze on me, nor does it shut down at apparent random. As a smart phone, it is functional, aesthetically pleasing, and Google's "Play Store" is certainly respectable. However, I can only give 3 stars to this product. My greatest issue is that in comparison to other phones (on the same network, in this case Verizon) it does not pick up a cell signal at the same strength. I'll be struggling with one bar while someone next to me on Verizon will have four, for no discernible reason. The second issue is that of battery life - despite the efforts of a few more knowledgeable friends and several online guides, I have been unable to extend my battery life past a few hours a day. I am informed that this problem is specific to my particular phone, but judging from other reviews, each Droid 3 seems to have its own set of quirks. For one last "quirk", the touch screen will occasionally fail to respond - it will still display, but will not register any touches. To fix this, I just turn the display on and off until it works again.A good phone, but with some serious drawbacks that need addressing, as well as some less-serious ones. If you value its connection to Google's Play Store, go with it, but if that's not for you, a competitor's offer might be more to your taste.

Droid 3
By Kyle Dorsey
I have been using once since the day it came out. Its amazing, having such a good and complete keyboard boosts productivity and functionality. Great phone, its fast, has full keyboard, sd card capable, 4in screen is perfect to fit into your pocket and view webpages on your phone, no issues.
