Red Nokia Asha 303 - excellent feature phone

My parents were trying to find a phone with unlimited calls and SMS, a physical QWERTY keypad, and data that wouldn't break their budget. I suggested Nokia's Asha 303, and my mom got the red one. She loves the keys (having had the Nokia E75's sliding QWERTY before), and says typing is a bit faster than on the E75 since her fingers don't have to move as far.Overall, the phone has a solid build quality. It comes with an FM radio receiver (the headphones are the antenna) and a decent internet radio app. It handles phone calls exceptionally well, is a breeze to send SMS or multimedia messages, and has a decent web browser. Access to the Nokia Store allows you to download and install additional S40 touchscreen apps. You can customize the favorite contacts list on the home screen, and then can call or SMS simply by tapping their photo.She also downgraded from the E75 (an S60 smartphone) to the Asha S40 feature phone to avoid AT&T's mandatory $15/month minimal smartphone data charge. She has the $50/month pre-paid unlimited talk, text, and non-smartphone data. However, because the Asha 303 isn't officially supported on AT&T's network, she hasn't been able to get mobile data working on the phone, so she only has data via wifi.The only other two features she misses from her E75 are the far superior camera, and Jan Ole Suhr's excellent Gravity application (combined client for Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks).

Not a Smart phone.

Obviously! Yet the touch screen interface makes operations easy, along w/the QWERTY keypad. It has WIFI, and works w/social networking (for all the FBers out there). It's a great buy for someone who can't spend the pretty penny on the smart phone, but still wants a communications device for texting, calling, and updating status. The camera isn't anything to talk about.

This phone fit the need for my wife. She didn't want a smartphone. She talks and text mostly and no web.She wanted a keyboard not a touchscreen one. This phone has a great number of features similar to a smartphone, but not all of them. She will not use many of those features. She is very happen with it. A great phone if you don't need a full smartphone.
