Samsung Galaxy Pocket is a smartphone for budget-conscious consumers offering an 832MHz single-core processor and a 2.8-inch display with QVGA resolution. On its back it has a really basic fixed focus camera of 2 megapixels, and a 1,200mAh battery resides under its back cover. You also get a 3.6Mbps 3G radio, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, and 3 gigabytes of on-board storage. All of that is confined inside of a body with a thickness of 12 millimeters. The device itself tips the scale at the respectable 97 grams. In terms of software, the smartphone runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread enhanced with goodies like the usual set of Google applications, Samsung's ChatON service, and, of course, the TouchWiz user interface.

Small and handy

It is a small galaxy that fits into my pocket (hence the name)Camera is low than avarage but I do not need it so it is oKAs it is not the strongest in the world it should be well managedlike closing applications and make sure you do only one thing at a timeAndroid is greate so all inall it is a nice and good phone that comes at low price

This is not a North American phone, they are sold in UK, Germany, India, Hong Kong.The phone is multiband GSM so works with GSM carriers (Rogers and Fido in Canada, T-Mobile and some others in USA) I bought this to replace a simple flip phone, that I use as a phone and sometimes to text. It's small, battery is good, screen is way bigger than my old KRZR K1, so I'm really happy. Wi-fi is fantastic bonus for Facebook, email, google messenger, etc when i'm at home or at the coffee shop. GPS works great. Phone is fast and very responsive. Camera is just 2MP fixed focus, but takes good enough point and shoot pictures.If you are buying this for data, keep in mind it will do EDGE, but not 3G, this is a foreign market the 3G is HSDPA 900 / 2100. It uses different frequencies than North America for 3G (hardware based, not changeable) so that doesn't work here.

Lucky Choice

Purpose was having a device when needed in international tourism travel, without being tied to a vendor or service company. Considered a "world phone package" company, but concluded I could do what I needed on my own and have less expensive calls and data with locally purchased SIM cards; not to mention obtain a smartphone for the purpose at a great low price.Exceeded my best expectations - pre-delivery phone call to Breed with technical question on device promptly answered; surprisingly quick delivery; packaging secure; easy set-up; instructions clear (ENG); internet/email/GPS operates well on Wi-Fi without SIM Card installed; phone with pre-paid SIM Card just fine. During much Int'l travel time will use without SIM inserted on Wi-Fi for FREE net use - no complaints from the device, and no reason to burn cash on SIM Card even when using low-cost in-country cards.
